I have an immaculate 91 model SWB hardtop sierra that i have only had a month or two and am reconsidering whether i want this project or not as i have just started a new job and am considering buying a daily driver and giving up 4wd for a few years.
The sierra has done 107,000 kms, immaculate inside and out, and i have put extended shackles on it, have mounted a JVC cd player in it and have made some panel trims for the back and mounted pioneer 6x9s running off an amplifier. Looking for prolly $5200, have spent a bit of money on it already and won't be breaking even by far, also have a 2" Body lift kit on order i am willing to put with it.
The sierra is A1 condition inside and out, no panel damage or rust, paint job is beautiful and it has been rust treated. I am the third owner, i have had it for a month, the guy b4 me had it for 2-3 months and the old man who had it b4 us had it from new. Very well maintained.
Plus i have an 88 pajero i want to sell.

I paid $1900 for my 90 swb, in mechanically mint condition. it was just a little bit wrinkled (well actually alot) from being layed on its side a couple times in the sand. Mech A1, slightly wrinkled, no rust. looks rough but suits me cause its only gonna get more scratched anyhow.

From what ive seen a modded sierra sells for just as much as a stocker... you dont get money back on mods.

4 years ago i bought my 92 softy immaculate with 170,000k's (i think?) for $7300!!!

That said it was from a dealer with 1yr warranty (which i used! fuel pump, water pump and something else, i forget)

If i sold mine today i'd expect about $5000 for it. and it has a 1.6L with weber, 2" springs and 215's..

I paid $4000 for my 92 on a 97 Coily Chassis, Hilux Diffs, 3 Link + panhard front and rear, Rear Air Locker, ARB Bar and Warn 9000ln Winch, and a Vitari 1.6l donk.....and a phew other bits and pieces.....it didn't have much rust, but the body was dented and it needed lots of TLC to get it looking and driving better.

Heres a pic of when I first looked at it.

I have done an engine in that time and a gbox.

Mods were a 2" lift <>600 and 31's <>500.

Only got a lot more rust/dents in it now.

Bought a 93 WT rolling chassis inc body tub,2xdiffs and front clip. for 450. gonna do a little bit of swapping.

OK, just got my first one, am picking up 2moro. 1989 softie with 230,000km (on 2nd engine), rebuilt rear diff and new clutch, replaced a couple of engine seals while it was out. Was advertised for $3250, am paying $2600 - needs new softop and one new tyre - otherwise minimal rust, good paint and totally stock (yes it will stay like that; for use as a D.D. and stockton sand dunes, occasional barrington trip or similar).
