Dogs at Tuff Truck 2006

Post by Squik »

This is also posted in another thread, not about Tuff Truck, but Ii am putting it here so there are no dramas at next years event.

Tuff Truck 2006 - NO DOGS NO EXCUSES

The land owners went spare as they set down a strict rule that NOBODY was to have dogs on the property, and during the course of the weekend I found 7 onsite and heard every friggin' sob story there was.

Don't bother hiding them under a blanket either, a dog whistle will bring out even the dumbest mutt and start them barking and security will have them.

2006 - You WILL be asked to leave the site if you have a dog with you and security WILL be looking for them.
I don't care if it's caged, in your tent, in your car or in your camper....you are OUT.
There are boarding kennels in Broke and Fordwich - please look them up and make arrangements prior to attending if Fluffy can't stay home.

I don't care if "Poopsie Diddums" is only a puppy that will fit in the palm of your hand....a dog is a dog...end of story.

A few reasons to seriously follow this request:

The owners have some working dogs on the property that have already killed other dogs that have strayed onto the property.
Some of you may have noticed the half a dozen or so farm dogs sitting up along the back road above the bog hole at various times.....they are looking for other dogs on "their turf".

These dogs are immunised against various bugs and worms that are on a framing property - your "Fluffy Poopsie" probably isn't.

If by chance your dog gets into a scrap with one of the farm dogs - who are rather valuable breeding stock - YOU will be liable to pay for any damage.

You have been warned - please spread the word if you know someone who is intending to take a dog.....tell them not to bother.

I don't care if you have driven from Darwin - you have a dog there - you're gone.
If we don't adhere to the rules of the property owners, we don't have a property to run it on.
Don't make me publicly shame you if we get shut down because of someones precious "Fluffy".
It's a 4WD event - not a Pets Resort.

I daresay this will go for WERock as well....you want Fido in one piece, you won't take him.

the guide dog question is a serious question. wondering where they stand on this issue, because as far as i can remember, if you banned guide dogs you'd be up for all sorts of discrimination charges

Not only blind people have helper dogs. But those people that require helper dogs that are not blind, normally are not capable of walking the terrian of the area.
