Windscreen washer additive\insect remover

Post by Guy »

As an addendum to kingys hi flow washer thread

Now that the bigger bug season is upon us, what have you guys found to be the best splattered bug remover ...

new wiper blades are a help ... the soapy servo washers are good ... but on a long drive the buildup can be a major PITA

Weird one this tip but ..........

I dont know how we actually found this out or what we were even doing at the time we discovered it ....

Nappy wipes !

Belive it or not they have some awsome cleaning power on dead bugs

You know those dried out remains that are a PITA to remove from the front edge of the bonnet / grill / number plate .....
Well nappy wipes cleans em of really easilly and quickly

We found that by poking 4 or 5 into the actual washer bottle with the water that they greatly increased the speed that splattered bugs were removed from the screen..... down side was that they took a bit to get back out of the bottle the next day.
:x

Dunno whats in em but it sure can get the bug guts off !

Kingy
I have to agree Kingy, I use them at work in my arsenal of cleaning products, start with nappie wipes and get progresivly stronger untill the carby cleaner comes out  not many stains after that!
Peter.
PS, Guy, I use bars bugs as well, and if you also use rainX their sticky little intestines will release easier.
