24v V6 fan hub

Post by Pharb »

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket replacement for the fan hub on the 24 valve V6 engines or if the bearings are replaceable. I think the 3L Triton and 3.5L Pajs are the same. Got a price from local mits - $344 trade. Ouch. Tried Bursons where I got 99% of parts for work and play but not available.
Also the rubber radiator mounts. Any one purchased replaceable bushes to press into the upper radiator brackets.

Yes there are replacement Powermax fan clutches available from Autobahn stores (about $130).
Davies Craig do them also but are around $180.
Not sure about the radiator mounts - I suspect these will have to be genuine

Sorry Frank, should have been clearer. I am referring to the hub that mounts the fan/pulley assembly to the engine.

I would try the wrecker's. I don't think anyone would make that kind of alloy bracket.

Replaced one of these from a wreckers about 6 months back after spending an arvo trying to press out the old bearing with no luck. I'm sure if you had a big enough bearing press or are able to heat the unit you would be able to get the bracket and bearing apart, then source a replacement part from a somewhere like CBC.

Ah ok I know what your talking about now.
I priced the 3.0V6 one from Mitsu = $383 + Tax
He told me they are non seviceable (bearing cannot be pressed out) which is ludicrous for such a big cast bracket.
I'm pretty sure the 3.5V6 is a similar arrangement - fan belt drives radiator fan pulley which is supported by the flange/bearing in that bracket bolted to the front of the motor. The water pump is a separate part driven by the timing belt.
I'm afraid the only option would be genuine..............
