purpose of A/T button

Sir

I have a 2.8 4m40 engine pajero. I would like to query on my Automatic transmission whats the Purppose of A/T button that has and indicator on my pannel when i switch it it illuminate the word Hold and Power and also what appropriate ATF should i use and how many litters. I dont have its manual coz i only bought it secon hand. Is there any type or brand you can suggest?

the power is when u hit the button it takes it out of overdrive (me thinks)

When HOLD is displayed it means the auto will hold the selected gear and not change automatically. When in POWER mode the auto will hold a particular gear for longer revs and will tend to kick down sooner!
