Anyone using one of these barrel type coolers in a 110? Will be upgading the stock cooler in my 110 300Tdi and am considering a water cooler.
Their 4-inch diameter by 6-inch long one offers more than enough flow. The question is how good is it otherwise?

Well, getting relevant info from the guys at PWR is difficult. I was referred by them to a Lindsay Fraser who has a kit for this application.
At any rate, I hoped to use their 4x6-inch barrel one because of its small size. The only statistic I have on it is the airflow which is more than adequate. Since they do not publicize other info I'm hoping to find someone who's already taken the plunge rather than start experimenting at $500 a pop.
Yes, the benefit I'm after is at low speed

use both u will lose bugger all boost and get twice the cooling but if you really want a good set up run an external water supply and pump for the cooler and plumb it through an old heater core mounted out front to cool it should be able to get all parts for under 300 including water to air

Yes, the plan is to run a small radiator in the space of the old cooler, perhaps with a fan behind it, and an electric pump to circulate coolant not just water.
If the PWR 4x6 was the choice I would mount it vertically behind the radiator/fan setup with just two elbows for in/out. - pretty much the same geometry as stock. Total size of this cooler is 4x12, so it's nice and small.
PWR tells me they've used their 4x10 in LR applicaitons. This should be 4x16 total size - not the best but it may still fit nicely.
Like most stock intercoolers, I'll bet the Liberty's is marginal. However, I understand I don't need a super-cooler in this application. In the end it's easier to fit the PWR than the Subaru.

I was wrong... was thinking of toughnut who has a nissan patrol TD (4.2L). Seems happy with it though:ISUZUROVER wrote:One of the guys on here is running one on a holden (isuzu) rodeo with 2.8L TD. Similar aplication to a 300TDi.
