rear brakes I presume.
when you put the drums back on adjust them as tight as you can so the drum only just slides on. then if you go back and forward with moderate brake force application they should adjust up as tight as possible. Make sure you back the handbrake adjustment right off before you start and then once the footbrake is auto adjusted then adjust the handbrake cable.
it's usually the handbrake cable that stuffs up all the adjustment

Just digging up an old thread here. Yea i have been having trouble with the rear brake adjusters too, well eva since ive had my zuk its never had a hard brake pedal. I have replaced the front pads, overhauled the calipiers, new master cylinder, new rear wheel cylinders and shoes. The adjuster seems dodgy to me as i have to set it before i put the drum back on. Otherwise if i let it auto adjust i will have a very low pedal. Or ive put the adjuster in wrong or have the wrong shoes. My ride is a 85 nt drover.
So im just wondering if anyone has a piccy of there 'working' drum set up so i can see if ive got everything in the right place.
Cheers Dan

Yea that would be awsome if ya could, chasing a pic of the whole drum shoe setup with the adjuster. Ya gotta take off the rear wheel and drum tho. Wanna see if ive got the adjuster and springs right.derelict_frog wrote:I have the same year zook so i could if u told me exactly where to take a photo of, my brakes r pretty good on the back. just have worn rotors on the front at the moment..

arbee, can you explain a bit more on this, where is the adjuster, we talking in the footwell or somewhere else,
i have to double push to get any breaks, quiet scarey, think its my master cyl tho, works fine with a diff master....

Yours deffenatily sounds like a master cylinder problem. Is there black cloudy gunk in the master cylinder resivoir?Spike_Sierra wrote:arbee, can you explain a bit more on this, where is the adjuster, we talking in the footwell or somewhere else,
