BJ42 questions

Post by Andy_B »

Hi everybody,

I have a 1980 BJ42 that I'm thinking of restoring, it currently has 4 spd, and was wondering which 5 speed manuals will fit up to the 3B. Also the springs are shot. So I was wondering which are a good set a springs and has anybody tried parabolics.

Thanks

you can mate up a h55f 5spd to your 3b (or at least they did from the factory).

not sure about the parabolics.. custom spring packs (mixture of 60#,75#,40# leaves).. maybe the others here will give you some feedback on this.

Also has anybody ever gotten a half cut of a BJ74, cause then you get a 13bt, 5 speed, air con and pwr steering. Does anybody know the price for a half cut? I'm just trying to find the cheapest way of upgrading my 42 if I decide to do it.
