I was navi for the first place modified, and I think the reason behind this is to spread the prizes more.
ie so you don't take the class win and prize and overall win and prize.

thus we actually came second in modified, but got the 1st place trophy and prizes, and guy holt won overall.

same would have happened to redzook, or athol, if they had have had the most overall points after adjustment.

but it was an awesome weekend, waiting was a pain, and putting the hilux on its side was a bit anoying. esp that it took a fair while to get it on its wheels, causing a pretty good hydraulic and extensive clean up. of motor.

but hey I have a trophy.

Had a great weekend...!

Could have been better had the front end of Jeff's patrol not been
planted full throttle into the tree, but as was already said it was a good
save and had it not been saved, it would have been a good roll for
spectators but not for us as such. Then after that there was the fire,
batteries smoking and snatch strap and electrics going up in flames, but it
all got sorted out. Jeff later got into the radiator with some bog and collected some fans, we even got to drive the mudrun on Sunday, until the short side CV shattered and I was given a nice sandy mud bath through the window....

I would like to acknowledge Tim for his great drive, you really know how to work that thing, well done ;)

Tiny and Rob I got to watch some of your drives, I was cheering from the sidelines for you.

Overall I noticed the event was handled much better than last year, no body likes waiting, but it wasn't too bad. Shame about the entry fees, Jeremy showed up on sunday and was met with a $50 entry fee.. : (

Thanks to Nepean District Including Anne and Shawn. :D

I was a bit embarrassed being the first car up on trees revenge and smacking the tree on the 30 point marker way too hard, but after seeing most people struggle to get past there it made me feel a little better. Did not help that my rear left spring decided to drop out on the first hole at the 20 point mark.

Next Mod.>>>> Spring Retainers.

By the way anyone got a winch bar for a SWB GQ for sale.

Yeah I managed to modify my front bar on that tree as well

I have since been informed that it was a mistake, and not a prize thing as I was told at the event,
so there you go.

Custom roof racks... there are a few exo'd rigs around that are Daily Drivers.

PS Miss Wendy one of the funniest things on the weekend was you taking off after the guy in the subaru (I think) beeping the horn at him for doing a burnout on the 'donut pad'
We got the last laugh. We got him. Twice, he came back on Sunday.
Around 30 others dobbed in were also escorted out.
Hang on a minute... donut pad nothin' that was camp ground.

Oh yeah my only main suggestion for next year (which I hope to run in again because I did enjoy it) - why not have the queues to each event clearly marked?
Even just a few signs - cause there were plenty of people who wanted to do the right thing but had no idea where to go after finishing a run and that resulted in multple queues and a few bits of unnessacary agro.....

Just a suggestion.....

Agree. Will work on this one.

I confess. We had numerous complaints re. that guy and he was pissing me off, couldn't catch him (obviously) and wouldn't pull over.

Newcastle done excellent at the presentation coming 2nd
plus 1st in standard
and i think 2nd in mod(scott)[/q
Guy Holt actually won his class [ modified ] but for the 2nd time in 2 yrs the nissan club made a mistake in thier scoring , luckily Guy gets his score sheet filled in & signed after every stage, a lesson for all competing. The nissan club also did not have the balls to own up to thier mistake publicly at the presentation even thou it was pointed out to them straight away. REMEBER TO GET YOUR SCORE SHEET FILLED OUT

I don't think half the officials even knew how to score a vehicle!

Day 1 we got counted out whilst in forward motion on the stage 2 event, the whole crowd disagreed yet we still got marked down.

Then in revenge of the trees (during our 3 hour wait, another member waiting 5hrs), we watched many vehicles back and fill numerous times out of the mud hole, but they kicked a hilux off for attempting a second back n fill....

They really need to look at the organisation a little better if we ever return!
