Lubing between leaf springs

Post by Damo »

I picked up some special coating which comes in a spray pack, it's a dry film lubricant that sprays on like paint, it has molybdenum disulphide in it. I'm rebuilding my leaf packs this weekend, we'll see how it goes.

I was also toying with the idea of rubbing graphite powder onto the leaves before I came across this stuff.

What have others done?

bar and chain lube in a spray can its cheap and it works after that nickel anti seize, and then teflon spray, but the big thing is that the springs are smooth and clean, a bit of paint doesn't hurt either.
