Recently discovered after disconnecting sway bar that the shop that did the susp. Ordered shocks for 2" heavy duty springs and 1" spacers. Except ride height ended up at around 4" with spacers and I wanted to settle around 3 to avoid panhards etc.
Its either because of that, or because the HD springs are shorter than normal that my shocks are too long, and they pop out on big flex, and pop back in when returning with a rather disturbing noise.
Has anyone here made cones or anything to help relocte springs smoothly? Or should i just bite the bullet and go for 3" normal springs, and suffer sagging and more body roll (i like the feel of the slightly harder ride, because the GU is such a heavy pig anyway)

All the gear, No idea...
Is there a way to retain them top and bottom?
I don't know the GU set up, but I made some cones for the bottom and my mate made some for the top, for a Defender and RR. Both work sweet...but there is still a noise when they slide down the cone and set back in place.
What about some spacers? That might make up the difference you need. 30mm spacers are fairly cheap...around 30 bucks a pair I think.

you can retain the springs either top and bottom or just the bottom and use cones for the top like this.

This is only on the rear though. Your bump stops on the front will do a similar job. It's just a reducer pipe that plummers use. you can retain the springs with a metal strap that bolts onto the spring mount and wraps over the base of the spring or you can just use 2 or 3 metal hose clamps.

It is a matter for debate but I would be considering tieing your coils in. No noise and better stability in my opinion. Worth more research in any case.
