4runner update

Post by boogdude »

Finally finished putting in the ifs rears into the 84 4runner. Got my 200mm shackles made by slayer (cheers), and put 32inch Pro Comps in Rear with both custom top and bottom mounts. In the front i just took my old 2inch springs out cleaned and repacked then and added 2inch extended superior shackles in. And procomp 3000 shocks (still original top shock mounts).

Heres a few pics of my test drive.
Think i might have chosen too small of shocks, what do you think. I had my back wheel hangin a couple of times, but wasn't sure whether it was the opposite wheel hitting the inner guard or the shock maxxing out.

Just chasing longer brake lines, and a tube rear bar

Not sure what ill do next, any suggestions? Also wheres a good spot to get a tube rear bar or anyone got a second hand bar?
thanks

i think your schocks would be fine, im guessing u mean they are 32" eye to eye when fully extended? i have ifs rears in my hilux and i run rancho rs9000's that extended 14" then plus the hieght of the shock so im guessing they are about 26 ish. if you want even more flex out of it, make a track bar, take the load leaves out and put lift blocks in to cater for the loss of lift ;)

Yeah i already have the lift blocks in the rear, cos the heavy ar@e canopy weighs a tonne. So i had to put them in to keep in near level.

I am looking at removing the canopy and getting a toneau made to keep rain out. Anyone know anybody who has done this???

I have read a few threads on track bars, but don't really have all the gear to make a track bar and don't really want to spend 400 for a brand name one.

heres another pic of the front with the brake line stretched to the buggery!!

jeez mate

it sounds like your progressing very nicely. I don't know much about the suspension problem of yours, but in relation to a new torneau, have a look through this thread on pirate to get an idea about some very purdy lookin' bikini tops for 4runnners. (and mine on page 53 :D )

good luck!
