just splashed out and got a 1978 FJ40 for a bit of weekend on-road and off-road. petrol/gas, reasonable condition, minor rust. plan is to go soft-top, disks on front plus power steering, with a nice paint job.
any suggestions on sources in Perth for item such as soft top, roll bar and seats, plus used parts for front discs and power steering. recommendation on workshop for mechanical and paint work would also be good

dont get it too nicely painted or you will cry when a branch or rock gets too close.

Hilux discs are the go, pretty much bolt on.
Don't ask me specifics though cause I got someone to do it for me when I got my SPOA done.
Look around for a Hilux power steer box to bolt on to your existing set up, I think there is some info on Pirate about it.
The other power steer set up is by using a combo of parts to slip a 60 box in. Considered most bullit proof.
