if you were to put some mounting brackets on that sucker and sell it for more, would it still be worth your time?

theres a lot of ppl who like the bolt-on no-fab approach you could be making money off

uhh ok. heres your sign.

the way i read that is:

if you dont have a welder, piss off and buy some yank sh|t, we dont want your money.

strangely i know of a few ppl who live in units (no shed) and have every accessory known to mankind on their 4wd, wouldnt know a flint from a frog, and happily pay to have no-fab bolt-on stuff. and as any fabber will tell you a piece of plate is worth a lot more when yew cut and weld it a bit.

ive no doubt that you will sell enough to cover your effort, roc7oy, but if you want to make some money...

i didn't read it that way.

the way i see it, is that the majority of outerlimits members are into modifying their 4wd's, more often than not they are looking at the most cost effective way to modify an item.
When it comes to this transfer mount thing, you could do it a couple of ways.
1. Spidertraxx make some very nice aftermarket transfer mounts for suzukis, these are available in Aus through Sean at ABT4x4, not sure on the $$$ though.
2. you can strenthgen the stock mounts by incorporating one of these rings.
3. you can fabricate your own transfer mount from scratch doing it which ever way you like.

most of the guys on here that are chasing this modification are running way bigger tyres than suzuki ever intended, driving way bigger obstacles that suzukis were ever meant to. Most of these people have already destroyed a transfer case or two and don't want it to happen again. The majority of us either own welders or can grovel and beg someone to use their workshop or garage for a weekend or night to fix things.

Just cause you live in a unit and don't have a garage shouldn't restrict you from doing your own fab work on youer vehicle. Hook up with people on here and before long you'll have people throwing equipment at you to keep you involved and on the track.

I wish i had the coin to go and buy every USA aftermarket product available for my rig but i don't, so i do my best to make all this stuff myself.

At the moment i don't have the time or resources to fabricate full mounts and stuff like that, but this will hopefully change next year. So for the moment i am catering for the masses of DIY people who frequent this board.

I'm sure if you removed your transfer mount and case from your truck, bought one of these rings and took the lot to a general engineering workshop or even some exhaust places and said "weld this bit to this bit" it'd be done. This is just one example of how we do things on Outerlimits.

Cheers Chris

munga when i weld mine in i will post measurments of the brackets so u can have 1 welded together, or u can buy 1 send it to overkill or someone so he can weld the brackets on for u, as he will have a zuk there that he can work off unlike roc70y. who owns a buggy.

hey all, i've been in Melbourne this week, the rings were in a que of jobs to be cut out as of last friday, so i'll check on their progress when i get back to the office tommorow.

The initila run was 20, so far 11 are paid for and allocated so if anyone else wants one (WA people) you'd better be quick with the $$$ or i'll take whats' left with me to WE Rock and flog em off there.

I'm assuming these would be way to big to fit in a satchel and once packaged would weigh in between 3 - 4kg. Would this be right?

i'm hoping they do fit into a sachel and they should weigh in at 2-3kgs, otherwise i'm gonna loose a heap of money in postage fees.

Well it looks like my zooks heading for the shed again.
I'll be very interested to see the different methods that everyone comes up for their mountings.
