Will a 6G72 from a 97 on Triton fit in an NH?

Post by its fishi »

Just wondering if this is possible.

redbook stats show these 6G72s producing:
Power 133kW @ 5250rpm
Torque 255Nm @ 4500rpm

If not, how are they different? How do they make the extra grunt?

Sorry if this has been asked before, search revealed no answer.

Thanks! :)

4 valve heads. If you want to swap in a later model V6 why not go for the 3.5 SOHC? Swap in the complete drivetrain and you'll have stronger gearbox, transfer and rear diff.

Do you know if the heads are the only difference? I'm wondering if all the paraphernalia like Altenator etc would swap over...

Wouldn't a body lift be required for the 3.5 to slot in?

Thanks

Sorry, I don't know. It has been discussed, but I don't remember the outcome.

Yes. A lot of members have them/are planning them. I assumed you were one of them...
