being a turbo 2h, i would be suspicious of a cracked piston. I take it you mean, oil is leaking out of the exhaust manifold. i.e for some reason there is oil pooling in the exhaust manifold?

White Smoke?
Sounds like that youre leaking water into the cylinders maybe?

Have you drained the fuel bowl of water?

White smoke normally means water being burnt.

Start with the basics first. Change the fuel filter, empty the water trap and see what happens. Joel

White smoke from a diesel usually indicates low compression. Its basically not fully combusted fuel. Water contamination in the fuel can cause this, as it does not help with the combustion process.

White smoke is usually seen on startup if the glow plugs arent working correctly. If the motor is low on compression, it too can cause excess white smoke, as the motor isnt achieving enough compression to combust the fuel effectively.

If it is smoke, id be doing a compression test on each cylinder. If it is steam, pressure test the cooling system with the glow plugs out, so you can see if there is any obvious water entry into each cylinder.

From all the research i have done, 2h's are prone to head and piston cracking from heat stress developed from turboing. If it has been overfuelling, it is likely there is piston cracking etc....this can lead to low compression, and white smoke.

check the four welsh plugs on the exaust side of the motor by taking off the two covers... i had one go on me and before it blew a hole it had the same smoke as yrs.. also the water that leaks from there goes to the sump, then is pulled up into the rocker cover, now if you notice there is a small hose that goes from rocker cover to the venturie (spelling?) and water/ oil gets sucked in with the fuel vapour. this only happens if all the water gets dumped into the sump though.. my opinion is DONT drive it, and get the beer and spanners out.. good luck

Yes. If the valve is burnt, and doesnt close fully, you will loose compression. Hence see above post. The cylinders have obviously been getting really hot. My guess, overfuelling.
