2L swap for 3Lt

Post by the plough »

I will very shortly undergo putting a 3L turbo into my hilux where the 2L used to sit. Was wondering has neone got any experience with this and any tips to make it easier??? It is a 84 lux.

Are you doing a 3 Litre or a 3L swap? Your topic heading says one thing and your post the other.

I think he is putting a 3L (2.8Liter Diesel) with an aftermarket turbo.

There is no such thing as a 3LT

The 3L should more or less bolt straight into where the 2L was. As your putting a turbo onto the 3L you may find your esisting gearbox is not strong enough. However, you may find your ok. Maybe look for a R150 series box.

G52 should hold up.. depending on its condition and how you treat it.

Put a R series box in if u have the cash, you wont regret it...
Cheers,
Dan.
