Howdy guys,
Following up on my previous thread about the landi converter, I have since got it working and it runs pretty well - the gas guy said it should be ok but might be a bit border line, it is a Landi 80SE.
The converter runs really smooth and works nicely but it feels like it is down a bit on power and feels like it is leaning out at the top end. At the moment I have a mixer with a single inlet.
I have just seen the same setup and converter on a WB statesman which should have more HP than my rangie so obviously the 80se can produce enough gas to run my engine without leaning out but the one on the WB has a mixer with dual inputs.
Now my question is do the dual inlet mixers give better flow or allow for better tuning - should I be looking at getting one ?
Cheers
Tom

Hi Jesse,
Thanks for the message, I previously had a omvl 90E on it
and had the timing advanced for it, the dizzy is stock as the car is dual fuel not straight.
One question, having just used 30L/100K on my second tank and 26L/100K on the first it looks like I will have to either find some documentation on this converter or get someone to tune it. There is only one adjuster on this unit and that is a large screw - I believed it was the idle screw however someone just said to me it was the sensitivity screw - so I am back to the start again. I will make some calls today and see if I can find a manual
Thanks
Tom
EDIT
Just found out that I should have replaced the secondary diaphram on the unit if it appears to be taught across the back of it - which this one is, aparently the contaminates in the fuel cause the diaphram to break down over time and causes them to be tight when the should be loose - if they are tight the result is you can be down on power/use more gas
the diphram is $15 I am picking one up at lunch time

As in a spring loaded screw valve in the dry gas line, yes I do and previously it was adjusted at about half way but with the landi on there it was nearly all the way out and still down on power.Loanrangie wrote:Do you have a power valve in the gas line between the converter and mixer ?
As I said in the other post I think that is because I didn't replace the secondary diaphram which appears (from what I have heard) to be buggered as it is taught in the converter.
So I am going to replace that tonight or tomorrow night and start it up and hopefully it will flood when I give it a bootful
