has it been done?

Post by mud4b »

has anyone made a singlecab defender into a extra cab.

or a wagon into a duelcab?

im chasing a duelcab for my tow/tourer rig. ive got some good prices so far but cant seem to find one for my price range.(up to 12 grand.)

so i was thinking i have found the other 2 for way below that and have thought about chopping them to suit.

i do have my reasons.

so any pics or help would be great.
thanks mark.

As tony said - plenty of dual cab 110's in UK/europe. Were never available in OZ though.

All you need to do to build one is buy a 130 roof from a wreckers (british offroad at forest glen should have one - but you may want to haggle) and bolt it straight on to a wagon. Simple as that, no chopping involved. Just lots and lots of bolts...

There was actually a 110 dual cab new from the factory about 10-15 yrs ago. There was one running round Weipa about 12 yrs ago, blue and 3.5 V8.

I'll be getting one of those over the weekend, hopefully ('84 Stage 1 (109" ?)). What'll be the difference between that, and a factory dual cab ?

Just as you asked about, a wagon turned into a dual cab. I was wondering what the difference between this, and a factory dual cab would be..

The wagon does not have a bulkhead and the dual cab does. The rear tubs are different to accomodate the bulkhead.

Why would you want pickup anyway ? The wagons have the same amount of room..

its simple really. i like the look of a duelcab over a wagon.

but i would rather have my employees chuck parts into the tray with no windows to smash or seats to be ripped by them. :D
