Front End questions

Post by Gollywog »

Hey all, i have a couple of quick questions regarding my 92 RR Classic.
Firstly, i've noticed that my front axle looks like it needs to be rotated more (down on the drive shaft end), the vehicle is lifted 2". I've read here on this forum that the best way to do this on the RR is to machine the swivel hubs.
Anybody know where this can be done in Sydney, (Northside) also what sort of $$$$
Last, i'm noticing a slight vibration in high rev's, sound's like its comin from up front. Can be travellin at 110 k's, and hit a hill, the auto kicks down, rev's go up, and there is the noise/vibration.
Thought it was uni's, but they seem ok. Any other suggestions....
Thanks for your help.

your vibration may be because your diff angle is wrong (castor) but also could be rear shaft or a wheel bearing or wheel balance
also is there any signs of damage on ur shafts as this will cause vibrations as well

I don't think it is necessary on a 2inch lift! Ring Andrew at Rangie Spares and he will be able to advise you better, plus they can deliver the parts you require

The swivel hubs won't alter your diff angle though, they will just correct your caster, you will need caster correction bushes or brackets for that
