attaching snorkel to 40 series

Post by tassie40 »

Have an aftermarket snorkel, bascially a large metal pipe bent in to the appropriate dimensions. I have nothing to attach it to the pillar with... does anyone know if there is a an aftermarket attachment available or if not can anyone suggest a suitable alternative?
Cheers

no I don't have access to a welder. And the snorkel pipe is clean... I was hoping someone had a nifty idea on how to mount it.. none of the Fourby outlets sell their mountings seperately, they all come as part of the bigger kit.

Take it to a metal shop and they can weld some tabs on it for you. Shouldnt cost more than $10-$20. Then you could attach it to the pillar. Id use tech screws or rivets cause they're easy to put on/get off. Remember to run a piece of v-shaped rubber or plastic around the hole in the guard aswell. Unless you like rust.

The other, somewhat bodgy, option is to secure the pipe using cable ties which would probably do the job but may suffer from vibration at speed.

Get some photos up when you're done.
