Sierra front brake rotors

Post by DrCarlo »

I was going to change my front pads for the first time on my zook (since I got it) and found the rotors where well and truly fubar. I sussed out DBA replaccements and saw they are solid, but the ones on my zook are ventilated.

Now the previous owners of my zook have not been modders, the thing is stock standard. So I dont believe they changed them on purpose.

My mate rang his distributor who said
The guy there said it's possible that your car has a different rotor on it, perhaps either a 515 (from a Suzuki Wagon R) which is about 60mm smaller in diameter than the original unit, or perhaps even a 514 off a Suzuki Estate, which apparently would have required a caliper change to fit.
My car is a 1992 Suzuki Sierra Widetrack..

what kind of brakes should it have?
Insert witty comment here..

brand new $120ea from memory....

tell you what though - it stops INSTANTLY with these suckers on =P

need to take an angle grinder to the shroud, but other than that its bolt on.

vit calipers are the expensive part to buy new.. i was lucky enough that Mark @ Suziworx sent me some as part of the sticker comp =P had them reco'd for cheap and pretty much had brand new fronts brakes...
