EFS Shock Absorbers and Springs

Post by BigTrav »

I have been looking at the EFS range of shocks and springs (Corrolls Springs) for my FJ40 Landcrusier which should give me a suspension lift of approximately 2inches. The products appear relatively cheap compared to other brands, I would appreciate any comments or opinions on the EFS products.

Thanks
Trav

Relatively happy with the shocks, but didnt get the springs (went dobinsons).

Make sure you check the length of the recommended shock is suitable fot your wants just like with any other kit the default longer shock only give about standard travel.

I've run EFS leafs all round on my competition MQ, now got EFS leafs up front and EFS coils in the rear. All 4 shocks are EFS and i'm wrapped with how well they perform. If you buy the springs and shocks as a package they should all be suited to each other and work well together.

Ive been absolutly satisfied with the springs, i had Dobinson springs prior and were changing them every 6 months as there were always sagging and losing there set. I tried a set EFS springs of the same lift and rate and they have been great. The EFS springs have about 30% more coils for the same overal spring as the Dobinson spring and seem to be lasting well. Been over a year now and the springs have not changed. I use Bilstein shocks but have heard good reports about the EFS shocks.

Big Trav, I am curious on the price you were quoted and what it included.

We run 3 vehicles with EFS (except the 40 has Rancho shocks) and all have performed brilliantly. The EFS leaves in the 40 are awesome, the 80 has a 5 inch lift and the GU 3 inches.

Having tested thenm extensively for the TV show (plus using them and many other suspensions for years before the show) we are very pleased.

We also have first hand experience with the level of R&D that goes into them. Vehicle specific, conditions specific they are excellent value for a fully tuned kit.

EFS

I've been running 4 inch EFS springs and shocks on my swb gq for over 12 months and can't fault them. I've had more trouble with the more expensive and well known brands.

The shocks are a good price but you can do better on the leafs. Ask for $150 each including GST for the leafs but don't forget the price of bush kits, U bolts, Gr Hangers and Gr Pins.
