VH45 into GQ

Post by Raistlin »

hay guys
have read the other topics on putting a vh45 into a patrol, just wondering on what u need to do, what engine mounts do you use? or do you make some custom ones up. also have seen that the motor needs to come 4"'s forward, can u buy this adaptor plate to go in between the gearbox and the motor? im going to be using the auto box it comes with.

Does both tailshafts need to be changed in lenghts?
do u use the aircon, powersteering, alternator and starter motor from new engine for the tb42 motor?

is there ne think i should keep from the tb42 motor?

Any other info would be great

Cheers Justin

You maybe suprised what you need to make.

Mate is most of the way thru fixing up an installation that was done elsewhere.

Hes only working on it in spare time, but its taken a while.

Making mounts, brackets to attempt to fit air cond on and tons of small annoyin things.

he will post up when hes done

if you are trying to use your 5-speed box you need custom bellhousing, also need custom exhaust manifolds, 1 engine mount like you said, re-tube tailshafts, custom t/case crossmember, electric fans for radiator, have radiator inlet/outlet re-jigged, cut and flare fuel line for inline pump or use TB42E fuel tank. also need a small body lift to get it in there. then there is quite a bit of wiring and plumbing to make it happy.
