Air Compressor repair

Post by Lambie »

I dont think that it can be done to Chinese clone - am I wrong???

Like many I bought an ebay clone of the bushranger max Air type compressors but it has died.....

I bought it through ebay and have got pretty average support from the supplier - is this what others have experienced??

For the record - beware EBAY buyers - After my experience I've decide to give the cheapies a miss

After my compressor's piston seal failed here's the response to my warranty enquiry for a unit that is 54 weeks old..... (12 months and 2 weeks)
"Hi Gavan, (Hi is a freindly start )

I did take a look at the listing and note this item's warranty has expired. As your item was dispatched over 12 months ago, we are unable to offer a replacement or a refund. Our warranty and returns policies are displayed on our FAQ page located in our listings:

http://www.auctionbrokers.com.au/faq.html

If you require any further assistance, may we suggest you contact a local specialist. We also recommend the websites of manufacturers where applicable and Google (www.google.com.au) as a general search engine.

I'm very sorry I couldn't help further on this occasion, but I do hope the above information helps.

Kind regards,
Leigh

i dont see a problem with the response. and wouldnt expect any better from a major retail chain like bunnings, repco ect... if an item states 12 months warrenty and u fark it after 12 months and 2 weeks its tuff titties...if u took a cordless drill from bunnings, killed it 2 weeks out of warrenty do u think they will just feel sorry for u and replace it any ways??

for the price they go for.. (i paid 55 bucks for my ebay bushranger clone) id say 12 months is a good run from one...
as for repairs, my father had a repco cheapy that burnt the pistion ring out, i muked around with a heap of differnt plastics tryin to get it goin again, never got more than about 4 31's pumped up before it would die again... if u could get the right material.. a carbon impregnated teflon.... then u could cut your own new pistion ring :)....

I've been stung twice by ebay
1'st i brought a chinese 12.000 lb winch to fit to my troopy with a arb winch bar i asked the qestion (will this winch fit my arb winch bar) yes no worries same bolt patten as warn. how ever when i fitted it the fairlead roller did not fit I had to but a warn fairlead roller at $300 i should have just brought a warn.
2'nd i brought some cv's that did not fit my 45 series troopy i had to steal 1 from my shorty to get going and to return item to the seller after all this (fitting removing returning cv and refitting cv) i should have just brought i from don kyatts
Buyer beware on ebay as you get what you pay for if its cheap it probaly to good to be true :? :? :?

Seems to be pretty safe buying of private people on ebay just trading stuff but IMHO don't bother with the companies making a living out of it, it's generally cheap shit made to sound good. Had some great stuff from private sellers though
