22r + 35s =??

I have swaped my surf for a 94 single cab lux with a 22r, i need to know what ratios to run for 35s and if i can get away with 3" spring lift and 1" body lift? Should the diff be moved forward? I dont want to much height as i have a quad bike on the back.

I've got 33's on a 22r, 3" spring and 2" body, still rubb on full lock & compression. Front diff will definately need to come fwd (been meaning to do mine). your curent set up should be OK with diff fwd.

I also have 4.88's and you would be pushing it with a sharp stick to turn 35's with 4.88 and a 22r. may need 5.29's.

Mate,

not sure what ratio's you need to run 35's, from experience the 22r won't like 35's I had 32's on my Bundera and it made a big difference in power or lack of power, I have heard of issues of people breaking timing chains?? with anything more than 34s??? does someone want to correct me on this, I was told by a friend a while ago

here is a pic of my hilux with 4" spring lift on 37's, the engine is just a standard 2L 2.4L diesel, it drove alright, mayb need abit more power (abit slugish on hill climbs) , but it was okay offroad, my diffs are 4.88's

also a pic of it flexing up, it doesnt rub at all, however i have chopped my guards (not the wheel arch) and moves the front diff 3" forward (see side pic)

so yes it is possible with 35's ;)

I had a mate with a single cab lux a while back, 22R, running 37's with 4.88's.......pushed em no worries at all. He could sit on 120 all the way to Sydney........ :crazyeyes:

cool thanks guys, i just have to work out how to move the diff forward i take it the drive shaft needs extending? also should i use 5.29s or 4.88s? i dont want to loose any performance

to move my diff i threw custom rear packs up the front end, these leaves are longer which produced more flex and increases approach angle :cool: another way is to redrill your perges about an inch or two forward.

to put rear springs up front you will need some kind of extended shackle and dropped hangers are a good idea to (more for pinion angle...)

as for driveshaft... yes u will need a longer one, you can buy one for a couple of hundred dollars.... or you can be a cheap ass like some of us and build one urself out of RHS.

as far as diffs go 4.88's will be fine but if u have 5.29's....

here is a pic of my 22R bundy with 35's and 4.8:1 diffs
I have ran this combo on this car for 15 years, it goes like shit off a chrome shovel :armsup:
