If you run 4.1 in the front and 4.11 in the rear (or visa versa), will it make enough of a difference to stuff the centre diff on the road?

I am tossing up wether I change just the rear diff or both in the Rangie as I just bought a pair 80 series diffs with twin lockers. The back one will be going in for sure, but it is more work to do the front as well.
I am sick of the vibs from the diff centre being off set so much, however I will put them in the other Rangie as it is just a toy. And the mounts are already done.

105 series rear with 4.11 r & p, front with Nissan GQ 4.1 centre.
I would be surprised if you wouldnt get the same difference from tyre wear/infltion pressures.

The Toy diffs are better than the Rover ones though. The 4.11 pinions in a rover at tiny, unlike the 4.1 Toy ones that are probably twice the size with the hypoid design.walker wrote:You could alway just sell them to me, that would take care of all your worries ....and mine.
I was told not to even look at 4.1's as they were a lot weaker than the 4.11's. I can unerstand why the are weaker but are they a LOT weaker in that I would break them quickly running 35's?
Even in this pic, the left is a Toy 8" 4.1, yet the right is a Rover 3.54.

So I think I will go the Toy completely in the tourer (4bd1) and put the Nissans in the chev powered rangie, rather than mix them up and end up with a weaker front in the truck with more power.
Does anyone think differently?

My front Nissan GQ centre is 37/9 (4.11:1), but my 105 series rear, with 79 series r&p is 41/10 (4.1:1)6.5 rangie wrote:Don't want to sound stupid but whats the difference in the teeth ratio on the crown and pinion on a nissan, toy or rover (4.1) are they all 37/9 (4.11)
I don't know what 80 series r&p are, but they would not fit 105 series.
