hey, i got quoted 1200bucks to bloody reseal my pump, so i rang a few wreckers to find out about 2nd hand ones, found one for 150 in good nic, just need to know whats involved in taking this off and putting a new one on as ive never done it? is there a lot to do? do i need to get a gasket? or just make one up myself or what? cheers guys.

Who did u get your quote from? I just had mine rebuilt by Rankin Diesel in Bayswater Vic, and the pump rebuild was $650+labour.

Unless you know what your doing, id suggest you dont tackle a pump, you have to get all the timing marks aligned spot on when u remove the pump.

There is atleast 4 hours labour in remove/refit the pump.

Do yourself a favour and get the pump rebuilt, as the seals in the pump are only going to leak on you unless they have been replaced with Viton seals.

ok, well i can get a rebuilt pump from a mate for the 300 mark. still really keen to fit it myself, is it in the workshop manual at all, how to get everything aligned? dont really have the cash to spend on getting a shop to do it for 400bucks....
any help would be much appreciated. cheers.

The removal is on pg 73 of my gregories manual...

While your there, probably should replace your timing belt aswell depending on how long since it has been done too... Normally about $100 from repco/toyota..

mate, i would appreciate that A LOT hehe, i was gonna go out and buy a manual, but couldnt find one. and altho ill probably get one in the end, id appreciate it heapssssssss if u could scan it for me.
