Wheel Studs

Went to put the Swampers on this weekend and found out to my dismay that the front wheel studs are too short for the alloys.

Where can I get longer wheel studs from and what is involved in putting them in?

You should be able to buy replacement wheel studs from most parts suppliers like Repco.

Had to replace a couple on the Feroza, just hit 'em with a big hammer and a punch to knock 'em out.

most alloys WILL NOT run standard wheel nuts !!!

do they have a recess for long shanked nuts ?

Agree with AJ, U may also want to take one out of yours to compare with the new one. I had the older type ones in my zook. these have the half head on them.

Maybe try patrol as they are the same stud size and thread.

When taking them out try use a vice with a large socket on the back so that you can evenly press the stud out. Reverse to process when putting them back in.

Like the other guys have said you should be able to get longer studs at a normal shop.

PS. Don’t just use the standard ones, coz as I found out recently in somebody else’s car, the nuts can come off and at 100kmh having a tire fall off is gaay!

yep got the right long shanked nuts.

The backs went on fine for the cool hot rod look.

I was under the impression that the front wheel studs are longer than the back ones...this is why I have front studs in the rear, to compensate for extra width in the disc conversion.

Maybe you have wrong studs in the front.

Maybe the alloys are a poor shape to fit round the disc callipers?

I think Joey used pntara/skyline studs in his? not sure.

I reckon you may have hit it on the head Chris with the rear studs could be in the front.

The alloys are good quality US Wheels so i can't see them being the problem.
