Gearing with a g16b
Gearing with a g16b
ok, i'm trying to decide which way to go with my gearing in my pos once the diff swap is done.
originally was gonna just whack in a set of trailtough rockmonster gears and be done with it, but want to look at other options.
removing the vit case and runnin a sierra tcase is an option, and i think overkill even do a kit for this nowadays dont they?? only worry i have is the strength (or lack of) the S3 gears. everyone seems to have broken a set lately.
so this brought me to the hilux tcase adaptor. anyone know when the m&m one will be released? what sorta $$$'s? this opens up more opportunities, using gears, or duals. plus the case is stronger.
i dunno which way to go, anyone got any suggestions?

More info dude! Are you still going to run this thing on road? with what tyres? The changes things because the sierra xfer doesnt run a 1:1 in high range and the hilux does. Have there been any failures with the Trailtough gears? They sound like the best idea to me as long as they have got the strenght you want. Mainly because they are less dicking around than anything else.antt wrote:ok, i'm trying to decide which way to go with my gearing in my pos once the diff swap is done.

My Series 3 have lasted for nearly three years now.
Mind you two years of that was sitting in a garage
There will be set fitted to a certain white Sierra in our Club soon, fingers crossed. I think that they are going to be something like 6.5:1 but ask Steve as he will know more than I do. But what does it matter to you as you don't wheel your Sierra anyway do you?

I haven't quoted Grimbo because nobody takes him seriously :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: [/quote]
