Well done Cheezy, for your 1st comp it looks like it was a success

from the pics it looked like the weather was on your side too.

Now get the dates up for next year's rounds so we can start organising things.

I was up there on Saturday. great first up event, congrats to all the marshals and Cheezy for making this happen. Cheezy is a natural on the mike, some very good informative commentary. Great location, close to melbourne, stages very close to each other with a lot of variety. Thumbs up to the sausage sizzle guys, lots of water available and sunscreen too.

As to the comp, the 9 teams need to be congratulated as it seems pretty much everyones cars were untried in this sort of comp with many getting finished up until the last moment.

The Firetruck was awesome to watch with the team working well together. GWagen steve and greg had a few issues with CV strength which was a pity as I would have liked to see more of them. Mock & James in NAMS buggy were having a ball and his attack on the bonus line at SS4? was great too watch.

I was actually quiet impressed with the PGS 40. In the past I didn't think much of it but the boys did an amazing job of getting it through the obstacles. The big Iroks and rear steer really helped on top of good communication.

The ABT buggy was awesome and with some more comp time under their belts will be one of the teams too watch.

Hopefully this event was a prologue of what to expect next year. With more teams and more spectators this will be huge.

A couple of suggestions. Course maps and signage so spectators know where and what each stage is. 4WDTV need to make the effort to come out and cover these events as the more coverage the better.

Also was good to Mike Ellem there for Offroad Images so there is bound to be some great shots in the mags.

Once again well done everyone for a fantastic first up event.

What an awsome weekend. It was such a well run event, that with the addition of it being the first of its type in Victoria made it even more amazing.

The sportsmanship of the competitors was fantastic, everyone was there to help everyone else out.

The PGS rig, well that thing is HUGE. It looked like it was too big to fit anywhere, however it was driven incredibly well. An awsome machine and driver.

A big thanks to Cheezy for not just talking about rock crawling in Vic but actually going out and doing it.

The VicKrawlers club did a great job with the assistance for the event, marshalling, etc etc. Well done guys.

Now lets get ready for the next one, maybe with a few NSW or QLD vehicles?

How did I break the Atlas?? Hell if I know - the spot we were in I didn't think was that bad, and as I said I have no idea how an Atlas can break before a 1310 uni joint!

To ALL involved in the event ,Especially Cheezy .Which goes from spectators to highlands P.Sschool run canteen i think,the fire brigade and of course all of the navies and drivers.
I made it down on SUNDY to find out yea could possibly be the closest point in Vic to the sun

Had to laugh when mark and moose tryed to get get CHEEZYS buggie to run on the hydrogen (BANG) theory ,no thermos during the stage and BOOOOOM no more water hose FUUUUUUNNY as shit. Rob in his TOUCHE TURTLE RIG (always on its back) crowd pleaser.
and whatching the ABT buggie not even wheel spin at all going up the drop off on the last stage(pre fire) shows great gearing and control matched to sticky rock and good tyres is a receipe for success.
BTW VIVA THE OZ ROCK REVOLUTION.

I they must be caught up with the mudracing association for show sponsership. As they where in Huntly on the sunday for the mud drags.
Which a spectator from ozrock was competing in swb mk/q (3rdrock guys will know the car).
We where just spectating though and getting more sunburnt.

when you get em developed get them put onto cd costs about 7bux extra per film but its heaps easier than scanning them all seperatly

Once again you need to get you facts straight Graeme!

We have invested around a $100,000 in 4wd TV, I have worked around 100 hours a week for the last 18 months. We have acheived greater success than any other community program. We have covered virtually every event we possibly can. I can be very confident that we have made every effort possible to support the 4wd industry.

But we can't work miracles, we can't be everywhere and we certainly can't be somewhere if we do not know what is going on.

Finally Graeme, from day one you have been a knocker of the show and that is fine as we respect that the program is not for everyone. But I do think that it would be more professional for you to leave your snide remarks out of a thread that is here to support the 4wd industry just as we are.

I will post up scores tomorrow as I have only just gotten home after cleaning up and am stuffed.
Was a good weekend with some good driving.

Well done to Pip for taking out the event, Mark and Moose for second and Mock and James for third.
Thanks also to all the people that turned up to spectate.
All up we ended up with just over 2000 spectators over the 2 days.
Also I would like to thank all the marshals and helpers as without these people the event wouldnt have happened (you know who you are)

I will post up some more when I have had some sleep as I have only had a handful of hours sleep in the past 2 weeks.

AWESOME AWESOME FUN

man I'm still on a high .
Great driving from all the competitors and a great atmosphere that made for a rippa event.
It was great to hear the crowd cheer for all the competitors too

even the Marshals were cheering

. Hopefully we weren't in the way too much

but the main focus was to keep the event safe & entertaining .
Congrates to Sharon (Mrs Cheezy) and all her helpers as well for doing a grouse job (They didn't even get to see any of the action).

My first time seeing buggies ... and it blew me away what thay can do.

Had a ball marshalling, as all the competitors were easy going, and got to see em REALLY close up!

Great work by Pip & Tim in the ABT buggy in their 1st comp in it (only 19 points on Sunday!!!). Man that thing is a sweet rig, with smart engineering, and heaps of BLING

Great work bt Mark & Moose, great result 1st time out, as weel as Mock, (credit to NAM for lending the buggy....legend

)

Big rap to the PGS boys for a great effort of steering that monster through those tight courses in a truck not designed for rockcrawling. James' arms would be like Popeye now!

2000 spectators is a great result, (especially some mint chicks getting around

) and definately added atmosphere.

I think Cheezy's commentary, and flags to signal fouls, helped the crowd understand the action. Well done to all invlolved. I think we've proved that there IS rocks in Victoria, bloody grouse ones!
