Hi guys. Heather had her carby looked at the other day and was told that the butterfly thingy (technical aren't I? ) is worn and is causing air to leak into the system.
Does anyone know if this part alone can be replaced or are we looking at a new carby?
It's not critical, but would like to get it fixed.

if you leave it much longer it will become critical.your motor will not idle and will stall and run rough.your carb has to be removed and then new bushes installed, to end the shaft play.from memory this did cost around $90 so maybe a second hand carb is the way to go(just make sure you check it first or it could be just as bad.)

that air that is leaking in to the system, is also unfiltered, I suggest fixing it is important, for not want dust getting to engine, or water. one litre bits dont cost much in vic. a rebuild kit cost me $40, but better to start with a cab that dont have a worn butterfly. Mokes had that problem often, we had the spindle hole drilled out, and a bush put in. I'm guessing these have a bush, so may be its replaceable. (I got a free one, but I live in Melb) christover
