Hubs and economy
All pajero's came out with auto locking hubs i believe, so yours will be aftermarket becuase the auto hubs were prone to wearing out and are expensive to fix.
If you want fuel economy dont get bigger tyres, dont get a suspension lift and dont get a body lift. You cant have everything, you need to decide what the car is used for most and what you want.
As for power no amount of money will justify the little power gain you could achieve but you could consider less restrictive induction and exhaust.

i think its more they are relatively cheap these days, and if your prepared to do the mods yourself - yes cheap to mod. I like the square old look and dont mind when putting a new dent in the side or having to bash the rear bar with my BF sledge hammer to open the rear doorj-top paj wrote:im getting temted to buy a gen 1 and do some mods.

I'll think you'll find Paj drivers are quite a friendly and sociable lot, and would be more than happy to have a Toyota along.
As long as you can keep up.

Heyhey, whaddya mean "american 4x4wire"? Heheh.. a Canadian wrote most of that drivel...1hzzzz wrote:Getting back to the cheep spring thing, I have done what was sugested on the Americam 4xwire sit re latter model Paj springs (I used 1996) in my Gen1 and got 2" lift SWB, if what you read in the forum is correct re coil spacers from the GQ you should be able to get the same lift for your LWB and on the cheep.
I picked up the springs for $30 each from the wreckers they are genuine paj springs (no probs with insurance) and are progressive to boot. They give a great ride, I also picked up some arb shocks (front and rear) from a Gen1 at the same time from the same wrecker, must be lucky some times....
Glad they worked for ya! The ride improvement over the stockers was as big of an improvement as the lift...
