TD42 Service intervals

Post by mabsydney »

I'm curious to know how often people are servicing their TD42, I'm doing oil and filters and grease nips every 5k, air filter as needed.

How often do you change:

Diff oil
Auto tranny fluid
Transfer case
Fuel filter (although I'm gonna get one of those filters with a glass bowl on it soon, so I'll just do that as and when I see it's dirty).

Thanks,

Oil + both filters-5000km's or every 5 tankfulls
Transmission & Transfer--Every 20,000km's or earlier if oil starts to get dirty.
Engine coolant-once a year
Air filter--As soon as it gets dirty as drop in performance very noticeable with Turbo with even slightly clogged airfilter..
Brake fluid-once a year
F&R diffs-twice a year or if oil looks dirty
Fuel filter every 15,000km's
Repack front bearings 3 times a year.

depends on use.

After lots of water crossings or mud, change diff oil more often. Same with repacking the wheelbearings.
