Changing T-50 Toyota gearbox oil

Post by Whitey »

Just wondering the easiest/safest way to change the gearbox oil in a Toyota T-50 5spd?? Is it possible to just pull out the gearstick and pour it in, or is there a better way. I've got one in my sierra, and there is next to no room to feel/see where the hole is to pour in new oil..any help would be appreciated.

oil

Post by benjamin78au »

pull the gear stick out, drop the sump plug out, and dispose of all the old stuff, then i tip a little clean oil while plugs are out, and when i see fresh oil i know it okay to put the bottom plug in , then i take the side plug out (the one to check levels) and tip oil down the gearstick hole, and check level every now and then. once done, replace the stick, and take it for a spin, see what happens, check for leaks, and that is it.

probly not the right way , but it works for me.
