4 runner question

Post by Tayls »

g'day all,
Im thinking about getting a 4runner. I wanted to know what was the last year that the 4runner came out with leaf front?

Also, id be looking a engine conversion, maybe thinking the 2.8/3.0TD? Hard conversion?
What would be some rough prices?
what other conversions are generally done?

i just finished putting a 2.8 turbo into my hilux (same as 4runner). It is pretty much bolt in operation, maybe a few different connections (same wires different connection), but thats all.
I paid bout $2500, which included engine, new clutch, engine mounts, fuel/water/air lines. I did everything myself

Pre 86, and some early 86 models were solid axle front.

Swapping over to a 2.8 diesel motor is dead easy as the motors are the same size physically...

Get hold of a 1KZ-TE with R151F and Gear driven transfer and slap it in...... shouldnt be too hard :D :D

Then get 4.88's, airlockers, and IFS rear housing and IFS front hubs and hit the tracks!
Cheers,
Dan.
