search is fine when there is something worthwhile at the end of the search but there is not a lot of tech about putting a 4AGE/4AGZE into a sierra only just people saying what they think of the motor in a zook so if someone can put up some tech about "HOW" to put a 4AGE/4AGZE it would be worthwhile

PM bazooka, he's done the 4AGE conversion & has plans for a GZE swap in another vehicle.
I wouldn't expect an immediate response, but if you don't hear anything for a while PM me and i'll give him a call.
This thread -> http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... light=4age has some more info as well.
Even though you have searched DON'T expect to find everything you need in the one thread. There are lots of threads regarding this swap on this board & you will need to read more than one to find the info you need.

I had PM'd with Drew a little while back (hope you don't mind I post this DREW), this info might help:
My conversion will be for a 2wd samurai/sierra. I have less issues with transfercase space, since I don't have a front axle to drive.
BUT A WRITE UP WITH PICTURES AND STEP BY STEP PROCESS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

just some quick tips, the easyest 4age to use is the ae86 complete with the gearbox & mounts. the right side eng mount you slot the bracket on the chassis & the left make a bolt in adapter plate out of 4in wide,3/8 thick flat bar,for the gearbox mount use the same steel with a piece of angle welded to the end. also you need to convert the clutch to hydraulic using a hiace van master cylinder mounted under the dash. Its not the easyest conversion but gives a really good result. if you want more info let me know as i'm in the middle of a conversion at the moment and can make a detailed list with pics & dimentions when i get some time. cheers Drew.

toyota hiace van,may have a different name in the US. there is another rwd corolla box that has a cable clutch but it isn"t as strong. In a 4wd zuk the speedo is driven off the transfer case(cable driven),not sure about the 2wd (not sold here).may need a custom cable, not to hard to find. You can use the toyota computer & wiring harness, adapted to the zuk. My shifter is a little forward of the factory position because lack of room between the gearbox & trans case,on the 2wd you should be able to fit the motor back far enough to use the original shifter hole. I think in US the ae86 corolla is called a corolla GTS around 1987ish i think. hope this helps Drew.

use your stock guages, swap over your zuk senders, just need an adapter for the temp sender(most parts shops should have it,take both senders with you),the toyota temp sender reads a bit on the low side.
