Professional Re-spray Cost?

Anyone had their zuk re painted by a proper car spraying company? (ie not a mate) Mines dues for one next year as its getting a bit shabby, and if i did it, i'd want it painted on the inside too, just like factory... havent chosen a colour yet though... its black right now and im pretty confident i'd be keeping a dark colour - perhaps a pewtery black.

well if you keep the same black you don't have to worry about it distorting the coour as it shows through (unless you get mutiple coats the same colour painted on a black surface/white surface/colour surface etc will look different ... the actual degree depends)

Drove passed a place today with a sign that said "Baked respray from $800".
I noticed because I'm considering it too.

That would mean a drive in drive out service. Don't look for any change out of $2500-$4000 for an in and out respray even in a zook.

I did the brother-in-laws bundy a couple months back and material alone was $600.

Those $800 places are without any prior prep work. You drive in a car ready to paint. They charge for paint as well.

In life you do really get what you pay for.......

The important word there is "from"

Many of these places paint with enamel. Yes people still use it.

The cost of painting a car will vary dramatically on the prep work required, eg how many dents, what is the current paint like, does it need to be stripped right back etc etc.

Easy way is to paint the indide with stone guard. This will deaden some noise and is also harder to scratch therefore lasts longer then just go over the outside. Painting is not that hard, doing the prep work the right way is.

I agree the prep work is what makes the biggest differance. I did a spray paint job on my last samurai, looked as if it was right off the factory floor took me about 2 days to tape and prep then about 3 hours to actually paint. I used a super high gloss rustoleum (not sure if you aussies have that brand) The black panels actually had a mirror finish. I was inpressed.

i work in a panel shop and on an averagee just to give u an estamate
we charge from 3 thousand same coulor (jam job) to $8000 dfiffrent coloure.
but u are painting a car thats going to be scratcht so me persanly
find someone to do it in their shed or else ur paint will be worth more than the rig
