Dude I would give Finemore's a call, may alos be known as Toll Automotive these days, maybe get on the Toll website and have a look under car transport. A bloke I know got a car brought down from QLD and was surprised how cheap it was, don't know $$ but. If its driveable and near a metro area its usually much cheaper.
Hope that helps!

Re: freight?
fly up $50-100, and drive it back
are speedy car carriers in QLD? would they go from sydney to melb thou?
I rang up toll, patrick seemed cheaper
toll - 354 depo to depo, +55 per door
patrick - 258 +58.85 per door
Was thinking of driving it back, but with the flights around this time, you cant get anything under 150, plus a 150 in juice and a whole 8 hours driving, doesnt seem to be worth it....
