Anybody using these compressors?

Post by coke »

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BRAND-NEW-12V-SU ... dZViewItem

My wife has told me that she wants tto get me a portablr compressor for xmas now that we have moved up to Bris and will be doing a lot more sand driving. I am wondering if anyone has bought these compressors off ebay and if they are worth it or if they are junk and I should stick with shopping at a 4x4 store.

Any experience with these or something else good value please reply.

... or pump as fast. They quote same speeds as the Max-Air but I can tell they this is not true. They are not far behind but still not as fast.

TJM also sell the same brand and they were in the latest 4wd compressor test a couple of months ago.

I have one and it works well. I picked it up for just under $100 and I will bking to get another one soon to have a dual compressor system feeding my tank.

I've got two of 'em hooked up in an on-board air system. The first one I got on ebay for $190 when they first came out and the second I got form supercheap for $140. At less than $100 they're a bargain!!

I use mine for air lockers and airing up and still going well. At $75 I'd buy it to plumb in for a 3rd compressor in the array!! :D :D :D (I've also got 26L of air storage)

Keep an eye on the (crappy) rubber feet, as they break and also check the 4 allen key bolts that hold the (compressor) head on, are tight.

I also had one of mine "die" on me. Motor spinning but bo compressor. Thought it was shot and was just about to bin it, when I decided to pull it apart (as you do!! :D :D ) and found the conrod/crank assembly had come off the motor. Just tightened the allen key that held it on and its fine again!!

Good for the $$ and for those of us that have occasional use and don't use them everyday.

I got one of them from auction brokers.

Works ok.. Not the fastest thing on earth, but does 4x 34 JT's from 12 - 30 without dying. How long it will last who knows but I didnt pay $75 for mine :D
