just want a rough guide as to what i need to do to get to the cvs on my GQ. thanks fellas
Hoonz's guide to changing/servicing patrol CVs HAHA
1. undo hub off 8mm allen key
2. crack wheel nuts
3. jack car up and put it on car stands (saftey first)
4. undo wheel nuts and remove tyre place tyre under chassis rail
5. undo brake caliper 22mm socket
6. remove circlip from end of cv
7. undo wheelbearing nuts 52mm socket (nut,locking plate,nut, thrust washer with single lock tab)
8. remove disc (becareful not to drop bearings in the dirt etc)
9. remove stub axel rear seal and disc shroud 14mm socket
10 remove CV and axel (becareful of inner axel seal) brass thrust washing on CV beveled edge goes to the bell
11. clean out ALL broken CV bits
best get urself a needle attachment for a grease gun to pump all the grease down into the CV .. can use on wheel bearings too makes it easy
make sure you use high temp bearing grease
reassemble in reverse order after new grease
