problems with stock sierra and 30"

Post by chunkz »

okay i got 30" muddies on my sierra (no other mods)
they are on the stock rims...
the rubber is rubbing (no pun intended) on the bumper and also on a bit im assuming is the chassis... only when i turn...

can i angle grind these with no problems you reckon?

On the back of the bumper there is some tube that mounts onto the end of the bumper from the chassis, cut it off near the chassis. The tyres when turned are most likely also hitting your springs, you'll need to limit your steering or offset your rims to fix that (or you could grind part of the springs off till they clear :P  )

There will most likely be some more rubbing on other places but nothing a BFH can't fix ;)

bfh has already been used

Because they're 15mm bigger in diametre. Also 30"x9.5 need to be on 6.5" wide rims, not 5.5".
I have them, but I also have a set of standard tyres/rims if I get defected.
