Any reason he's not using the Aussie 3.8 with T700/4L60E?? He could have problems getting it regoed if it doesn't have appropriate emmissions gear, and an engine not older than the chassis. Holden have done a heap of work on smoothing out the 3.8 (moving conrods, upped the compression ratio, different bearing surfaces/sizes, etc) and have optimized it for our better fuels (US standard unleaded 85-87 RON, premium unleaded 91-93 RON). No point in fitting an inferior development of the same engine.Nat84 wrote:not yet the guy that owns has a Wish list.

The T700/4L60E can be beefed up and supplied with a manual overide on the gears(Advance Automatics, Bayswater, Vic), and although not cheap is apparently quite strong. T700 were reknown early on for not being the strongest box on this earth, as the power of the 3.8 increased over the years so did the strength of the box, not quite good enough for extreme 4wd work but vastly better than they were originally.
Cutout flares you might be looking for (soft rubbery ones) are available from Pirahna in Bayswater, Vic. They are made for Suzuki Sierras .
George Carlin, an American Comedian said; "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise that half of them are stupider than that".
Gary, I believe the Mazda in the pics is from the USA, hence no Aussie option on motors.
As for Bushwacker Cut-out flares, www.summitracing.com sell the Bushwacker range, and were fairly cheap when I was looking for some for my F Truck. Although in the end, I looked on www.ebaymotors.com and looked up bushwacker, and asked the suppliers if they had my particular ones in stock, and bought them of them.
