this may sound dumb but what a "endless air"

is it a term used to descripe a type or compressor

could you some how use a drill or sumthing to try and turn the pulley on the pump

im not well taught on how a A/C compressor works but do they have a vlutch that is activated by the switch on the dash

if so

does the engine have to running before it will engage the clutch
if not then you could possibly turn it by hand
but dont quote me as i dont own a A/C equiped vehicle

cheers

usually it is only the pully bearing that seizes, this is about a $20 bearing from the air con wholesaler, unless the aircon has had no gas in it for a while, or gas with no lube.... mine has been siezing the pulley bearing from muddy water.

Pull the pulley and bearing off the front of the compressor, you can soon enough tell if it is the bearing or not, if not, u know what is next.

edit: if the belt "burned up" with the air con turned OFF then i would almost gaurantee a pulley bearing.

TD42T shorty... got some bolt on and some custom stuff.

Get ready to give yourself an uppercut (or better yet, maybe chuck can give u a free roundhouse kick) when your sitting in traffic, in 40+ degree heat, and no air con...... but wow, if you get a flat, you'll be able to pump up in 55secs instead of 5 mins  :P

personally, i'd take hours of cool air over 4 mins less pumping a tyre ;)

ive got a TB42 and manage to get the pulley on and off whilst its on the car without a bearing puller, just a mallet and a brass or bronze rod, bit of a pain, but works, just make sure you have all the bolts and circlips off the front of the pulley b4 u try hammering. mine is an easy 1 to do, if urs has a sorta triangle looking bracing thing on the front of the pulley, well, have fun.

The Diesel KIKKI type compressor pumps lot of air, but dosent last long used as an aircompressor because of its internal design. Use a Sanden 508 and fill with HTB grease

i was thinking maybe of going to a truck wreckers and try and find one

i was thinking of using an old ac pump i had been given to do it on mine
3 things stopped me
1 to much stuffing to make brackets and get the belts and pulleys
2 having to fork out for all the parts for lubrication like the thing that feeds oil in on the inlet and a seperator on the outlet side
and
3 my engine would die with a any kind of pump connected

this may sound stupid, is the KIKKI type just a brand? and would it really be that pointless seeing as how i already have this one??

Most Patrols use compressors made by Diesel KIKKI--they are the same dimensions as a Sanden 508, but instead have 3 double acting pistons instead of the Sandens....5 i think. Instead of using bearings for the swash plates, the Kikki uses bronze bushings with internal oilways. It has a small oil pump in the back cover-- Small holes in the cylinder walls squirt oil to keep the pistons from siezing when hot. I had 3 KIKKI type compressors before changing over to an Endless air, and theydo pump much more air than the Endless, but they run extreamly hot and squirt a lot of oil out of the discharge. The oil resevoir is very small--They will work ok, but your oiling system needs to be cabable of collecting the large amount of oil they discharge and feeding it back into the compressor crank case to prevent siezing
