Used to use some sort of gritty stuff, but I've changed to Protectolene. I've been back for more tubs, so it's good stuff. Like soft soap you scoop out of the tub. Rub it in well first then rinse off. Seems to clean oil/grease/paint/grit well.

i had the orange septone cleaner first and that took a bit of work and was pretty abrasive.. now ive got the pink septone stuff and its great.. just need a tiny bit and lather it up, and everything comes off! not that i use it in any great volume but i do get pretty greasy and oily when workin on the 40..
where is the best place to buy either of these? I've had dermatitis really bad a couple times too and am tryign to avoid any more reactions.bazooked wrote:ive used all of the above, anything woth a petro in it is crapiola , foorks my hands and dries em out good, the 2 that i have found work great are renol the 1 with the wood shavings and solvol.

Snapon is the best hand cleaner I have ever used. Bloody expensive outright, but you use very little, it is medicated, protects your hands and works very well. If you decide to get it, make sure you get a dispenser. 1 pump is enough!mkpatrol wrote:Snap On hand cleaner.
It the only one that doesnt cause dermatitice (spelling?) or dry my hands out when I use it regularly.
My skin reacts fairly badly with constant use of handcleaners, but snapon handcleaner doesn't affect me.
Another trick I have used (and most of the fitters and sparkies I worked with) is to use an industrial barrier cream as a handwash! Once again, it doesn't rip your hands apart, and because it is a barrier cream, it makes washing your hands next time easier as sh*t doesn't get into your skin as much!

Wurth do a good hand cleaner and you use stuff all of it. you can use it with or without water. reasonably priced as well.
BIGGER IS ALWAYS BETTER
I got a 5 L bucket of stuff from a dairy which excellent. Got fine sand in it and my hands feel like Ive been using moisturiser after using it. Dont even really have to scrub them.
I think it was from Alfa Laval Ive had the bucket for about 8 years and theres heaps left

What, haven't you ever done lines of International Roast off a hookers back with $100 notes?
Silicone Hand Cleaners
Just wondering, are any of these waterless hand cleaners silicone based?
SuperCheap used to sell Arco - as a plastic cleaner, which was also great as a hand cleaner, it was literally a matter of wipe on, wipe off and it would take off diesel black, diesel oil, grease etc in a matter of seconds, even that stuff that gets into the cracks in the skin.
I haven't been able to find it for years - has anyone seen it or a similar product around?

If it's worth doing - it's worth doing to excess ...
hand
A great product is Simple Green, EVERTHING (product wise) but their hand cleaner is water or waterless and is non toxic and everthing freindly.
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

Just a thought, since thats 4 tins of hand cleaner for $133, perhaps we could organise for someone to buy the 4 tins and sell off a couple of individual tins. If Aus Post will allow it to be posted, I'd be in for one tin, but I couldn't justify 4!
Cheers, Dean
Edit: The medicated one, not the pumice!
