Re: c4-c9 trans. any condition

Post by westall1 »

Does anyone have a complete c4-c9 auto unit out of early range rover .
I am looking for one complete but don't care what it`s like. It would be suitable in any condition as it is for a possible project.
Cheaper the better as I am not sure if project willl work. Must be complete. If it works out I will get unit reco.
Prefer Melb. through to Gippsland area if possible. Thanks in advance.
Cheers Jamey

Are you sure that's a C6 as thats the auto used behing the big block fords if so i'll be interested. Any C4 C9 out of a dirty old falcon will do i can scrounge a rebuilder up if your keen as long as you have the adaptor and shaft.

Thats what he tell me, i haven't stuck my head under to have a look, its got a 4.4 infront of it. C6 is a bloody good box, better than a heavy FMX.

It's just that all converions i have seen have been C4 C9 very similar to C10 internal components the same bell housing slightly different but C6 is the big mutha, most dont know the difference thats why i ask i may have to give him a buzz.

Apparently Ritters did some of these aswell as all the other auto conversions they did with this transcase, t400, c4, etc..

Don't know if it is a big block or small block C6, s/b the top bellhousing bolts are about 4" apart, b/b they are about 7" apart
