omg i am gettin so sick of this car! i have put a new worked 302 in and a c4 auto, replaced a rear smashed diff, cut the rear off to make a ute. now i dunno what to do. i need to finish off the rear of the cab. but i dunno whether to keep the existing rear window (which i originally intended) or make a new one) i had to cut the drivers side sill out as it was totally rusted. so now i have to find someone who can bend me up a new one....dunno who....then i need to build a tray and get the roof welded and fitted...ive had enough! i wanna throw it down the tip.....
anyone have any ideas as to some of my problems?

I had my local steel merchant fold me up 2 sills for my 2dr ( now ute ) out of gal sheet, cost me $15 for the pair about 4 years ago. I made them in 2 pieces , an L section and a flat section, i had to cut the lower half of the sills off as they were rusted out completely and a previous owner had riveted some thin sheet covers to hide it. This how i did my back window area.

thats good news about the sills! i was just havin a b1tch! i was thinkin along the same lines as you loand rangie about gettin the sills bent up. i need to replace the inner sheet that the body mounts attach to on both sides while the drivers sidf was completely stuffed. how did u have yours bent up? the inner and outer as 2 seperate pieces? i was thinking i might get it made as one peice out of thick steel so they could stand up to a beating over rocks.
im thnking i will go something fairly heavy duty. i had to remove the top part of the sill too...as in the floor on the drivers side. i dunno how it never collapsed when i was out 4wdin. the passenger side just needs the inner sill replaced right up to the body mount whereas the drivers side needs all around the body mount done.
hey loandrangie when you made your c pillar did you just use a sheet of steel attached to the b pillar and onto the rear window frame? i was going to make a whole pillar and bolt the window frame to it.
going to borrow a mates mig soon so i want to do all my welding while i have it. also is your rear window going to open still or will it be fixed? it looks like you have cut down the frame size on yours...

Yeah, just used 1mm sheet as it was as thick as my tin snips would cut !
Problem i had was the sheet warped slightly in a few places due to heat but it is nothing a little bog cant fix. The original top frame has been cut down and perspex used instead of glass, still hinged at the top and these are now slotted so i can remove it easily.
