Hi everyone,
I am looking or my first 4x4 and have always loved Jeeps or Hilux's (very different i know).
My question is, should i consider the Asia Rocsta (look very simmiliar to jeep) are they any good, i will be doing small amounts of off road stuff for camping and shooting.
Would like to be able to do it up at a later date and need to be buy one that is registered with a roadworthy.
any advice much appreciated
thanks
Brett

Should I Buy A Rocsta???
Moderator: Tiny
Depends on your budget more than anything...
work out what your going to spend and then work
out the best most capable vehicle within your range.
You did say you'd like to do it up later, I don't know
much about the rocsta, but the availability of stuff to
do it up might get tricky Others may know more on that

They are an exelent 4by Std but not really anygood on road with poor fuel ecconomy and harsh susspension. They look good if you get rid of the stock rims and put wider offset rims and bigger tyres they look very jeepish. Aftermarket parts are hard to find and lockers are very exy.
But with a little lift and new rims and tyres they perform very well offroad with std gearing.
I'm very happy with mine but I started the same way just wanted a part time play thing and manly just a daily driver until I got the wheeling bug and found myself offroad every chance I could.
I haven't broken very many things like I would have if I owned a Suzuki or a Lux but I have'nt been able to mood it up with lockers and crawler gears if I did buy one of the more popular types.
Ask yourself how did I get onto this website?
Do my friends go wheeling often?
Do you get addicted to motorsport easly?
Rocsta's are getting cheaper but you could buy an already mooded Zook for the same money.
I really like my rocsta it's strong and built to wheel.
But if I could do it all again I'd buy a zook
Even though they break cv's all day you can just do so much to them by swaping old model and new model parts around, + the after market gear you can get.

get the facts before the facts get you.
advice from sumone who has bought a less popular 4x4 (rocky):
If you end up buying it, dont spend time on this site, the 4x4 bug will bite, you will start to break the 4B once you get more daring and you will wish you bought sumthing bigger and easier to mod
my 2c neways
If you dont want to do serious offroading (refer to trips and tracks section and view pics of 'serious offroading') then go for it, but I'd bet you get bitten and want to start rockcrawling
