Hi everyone ( sounds like an aa meeting ) I've got a little problem with my Deo that I am hoping someone on here can help me with... The last couple times I drove it a dash warning light came on that looked like a stretched out coil or pigs tail, it goes out by itself after a minute or so without me having to do anything at all and as far as I can tell does not affect the vehicles performance in any way.
It has been professionally converted from a Turbo diesel manual to a VR V6 with the Commodore tranny, I am assuming they haven't changed the dash lights when they did the conversion.
No I dont have a manual YET, Yes I have done a search, on here and other forums which produce results such as check engine lights and sensor lights but doesn't actually tell me what those lights look like.
So any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I intend to go away next weekend and would like to know if it is going to die on me or not...
Cheers

The light you are talking about is the glow plug light which would have been apart of the system when it was a diesel. Normaly what happens is when you turn the ignition on and before you actually start a diesel you do a thing called glowing the plugs, which allows the to get heat in to them to ignite the diesel beforeyou start it. While doing this that light shows up and when it goes out its ok to start, ie enough heat, but seeing your truck has had a v6 put in it does not need to do it. It seems to me that the computer is still going though the motions as it would as a diesel, as for being a problem its hard to say. Maybe who ever did the conversion has not got rid off that part off it.
I hope that helps out.

Yer Thanks for that I thought I had seen something similar in a mates diesel Cruiser a while back, I'll just have to get a sparky to trace the wire back see if it's still connected to anything. At least I know it's not going to crap itself any time soon !!!muduppig wrote: I hope that helps out.
