60 series dust deflector/spoiler thing & Air-con Gas

Post by vSAHARAx »

Hey over the past few months i have seen a few 60 series landcruisers getting around with a dust deflector/spoiler thing above the rear window, they look smart, so i was wondering if anyone knows where i could find one and how hard it would be to fit one to my 89 Sahara. i will try and find another one driving around and take a photo if you dont know what im talking about.

Also while im here, does anyone know what sort of Gas my 89 Sahara would run in the Air-Con??? im not sure if it has been converted to the new type of gas (R134a or what ever it is) as there is no sticker anywhere under the bonnet stating its been converted. So if some one could inform me what gas they came from the factory with would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Troy.

Hey mate.

A/C = R12 i beleive... check the caps on the ports under the bonnet on the AC lines, just follow them both from the compressor till you find a little cap sticking out of the line, this is where the gas gets charged/discharged. If its R12, both ports will be same size, if its R134 they will be different sized, hope that makes sense,

Rear Dust Deflecter = Try Repco or Autopro, they tend to have things like that available for purchase, or maybe scout around the wreckers/trading post.
